Introduction

Today, leadership is considered as one of the most important function of management that helps in maximizing organizational ability to achieve desired organizational goals. Organizations are built on leadership and when there is effective leadership in the organization, it attains success in all activities undertaken, experience growth and retain efficient employees. Leaders are considered as essence of the organization because he is one person who provides motivation, create confidence in his followers, provide guidance, build morale, coordinate effectively, and builds smooth work environment (Kotlyar & Karakowsky, 2006).

Effective organizational leaders maintain a delicate balance between understanding organizational goals and employee needs. Organizations with right leadership skills and elements have satisfied employees that ultimately builds organization. Leadership studies of 1939 identified different leadership styles. Every person differs in their behavior and personality thus they possesses different leadership style (Bernard, 2008). In this paper I am going to analyze situation of an organization that has different leadership styles and their effects on employee performance. The purpose of this paper is to let leaders know about different leadership styles and behaviors and their impact on employee performance.

Leadership Style

Executive A

After analyzing the situation we found that Executive A possesses Level 5 leadership style. According to level 5 leadership, these leaders do not seek success for their own glory that success is necessary so that organization and team can thrive (Kotlyar & Karakowsky, 2007). These leaders have humility, they are the first to accept blame for mistakes and they tend to share credit for success. According to Collins who created the concept of leadership level 5 said that these leaders are shy but fearless when they are to make any decision especially risky decisions. Executive A possessed same qualities of leadership 5 level, according to his colleagues, he is ambitious, driven, fiercely and largely focused on organization's success. With his effective leadership he raised the stock of the company to 128% and posted growth and profit. He was shy and used to give all his credit to other leaders of the organization. Executive A used to take responsibility of poor results and take pride to develop strong leadership in the organization.

Leader B

After analyzing the situation we found that Leader B has transactional leadership style. This type of leadership style starts with idea that team members agree to obey their leader totally when they take a job on. Transactional leader provides their team members some control of their income/rewards by using incentives that encourage greater productivity and high standards (Bass, 1990). Transactional leaders focus in punishments and rewards in order to achieve desired goals. Leader B has same characteristics, he believed in clear chain of command and rewarding good performance. Leader B considers his subordinate to be fully responsible for its delegated tasks and issue punishment for failure.Leader C
