CHAPTER NO 1: INTRODUCTION

Statement of the Problem

The study is related to Lutheren Community Care Centre which particularly focuses on diversity issues within the organizations. There are various studies and reports which emphasizes on the lack of diversity within the organizations seem to have a key assumption that increased diversity can help the company in improving the overall performance of organization or be of assistance of the success factor. With reference to Lutheren Community Care Centre of South Australia Adelaide, it is imperative and essential to consider that diversity issues within the organizations are crucial factor, as they guides towards the success of the Lutheren Community Care Centre which is reflected by the performance of the employees.

Significance of the Problem

The significance of the research phenomenon is that the diversity is being reflected by gender, genetic (disability), health and age of an individual. In this study, diversity is defined by the above statement which shows particular explanation of diversity in spite of much broader definitions of diversity that entails personality types and values etc. Moreover, for the performance of organization and diversity within the organization, it is important that the organizations should consider social aspects that entail societal factors of the society as they affect overall performance of the organization. For that reason, while measuring the performance or the success of business activities, diversity factors should be in consideration that includes gender, genetic (disability), health and age.

Aim of Study

The aim of the study is to test a new methodology, which is based on the development of leadership and organizational culture, and to demonstrate that it had positive effects on diversity and equality.

How the diversity is being used as a success factor at Lutheren Community Care Centre?

Hypotheses

The study focuses on the following key hypotheses:

There is an association of success of Lutheren Community Care Centre with the gender diversity.

There is an association of success of Lutheren Community Care Centre with the genetic (disability) diversity.

There is an association of success of Lutheren Community Care Centre with the health of people.

There is an association of success of Lutheren Community Care Centre with the age diversity.

CHAPTER NO 2: LITERATURE REVIEW

The increasing diversification of the workforce in recent decades in terms of gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, religion and disability has caused a change in profile in the corporate world, bringing in tow a greater interest in the academic study and understand in more depth the issue of diversity in organizations (Carrell, Mann & Tracey, 2006).
