Abstract

There are a number of factors in any organization that have its influence on the health and productivity of an employee for instance, the kind of leadership style it has, management practices that are implemented, social supports and network groups and existing aspects of culture such as norms, values, beliefs and assumption which are ultimately shared by the people within any particular organization. It is that the overall environment at work that has the potential of improving and ruining overall health and welfare of an employee or worker. The research will find out how leaders in organizations can help in reshaping environment of any workplace and at the same help assist employees in increasing their productivity.

In almost every organization it is believed that a healthy working environment and workplace help and assist workers or employers, stakeholders of the company and customers and also in shaping a healthy society for its citizens. In order to create healthy organizations it needs transformational changes. For instance introduction of some kind of fitness programs or some kind of policy for flexible work schedules can be taken as some of the examples. The overall environment of an organization is all about the factors related to job and organization that affect the process of interaction and communication between any organization, its work and people. This is the reason why it is extremely important to take the impact of organizational environment on the health of employee into consideration. It is also very much required that the decision makers of the organization are engaged in order to address major components for the sake of complete health promotion efforts.

Discussion

In any organization proper treatment of employees and workers with care and respect is only a right thing to do for making the overall working environment smooth but it is also good business. There are several workplace health promotions that have established certain kinds of characters that have been associated with those organizations that are known for their extraordinary efforts in supporting health among their employees. However, all these benchmarks cannot sufficient enough that they can be regarded as firm conclusions to be taken and depends upon whether an organization has a health culture in place or not.
