Organizational Management

1) Introduction

The organization was born, essentially the human need to cooperate. Men have been forced to cooperate for their personal ends to their physical, biological, psychological and social. In most cases, this cooperation can be more productive if it has a structure suitable. It is said that an organization with good staff work. It is also said that it is desirable to maintain a degree of freedom structural organization because it encourages collaboration to accomplish tasks. However, it is obviously still capable and willing to cooperate among them work more effectively if they know your location to a task, their functions and how they relate to the latter with those of their peers to achieve a goal or outcome. Thus, the structure of the organization should be designed so that it is perfectly clear to all who should perform a certain task and who is responsible for certain results (Dickson, 1939). This eliminates the difficulties caused by the imprecision in the assignment of responsibilities and also provides communication and decision making appropriate to the objectives of the company, the structure in an environment which uses the organization to achieve its objectives effectively. To define the organization structure of the company, we are taking Tesco as an example.

Functional (silo) Organization

The organization brings together functions in a department, all engaged in one activity or several related functions are called. It's the kind of organizational structure, which applies the principle or principle of functional specialization of functions for each task. It is likely that the functional organization is the most logical and basic division department. The mainly used for small companies that offer a limited line of products because it allows exploiting efficiently the resources specialist. Greatly facilitates the monitoring because each manager must be expert in only a limited area of knowledge and skills. It also facilitates the movement of knowledge and specialized skills for use at points where they are needed (Narver, 1990).

Tesco is a company based on customers and staff, quality properties around the world and numerous opportunities for growth. Their mission is to build on these achievements for all our partners. For the future, the continuity is obvious. The company has a solid strategy, a strong team, and during the most risky in terms of trade diversification is now behind us. Nevertheless, some changes are needed because we know that improvements are possible: the clients are changing, and Tesco does the same (Dickson, 1939, Pp. 148).
