Introduction

Organizational merger refers to a basic revival system of the companies that combine into a single unit with some new operational systems. Several organizational systems are involved in this practice of merging two or more companies in order to form a single unit of the organization such as tasks, people and resources. This practice of merging all these different system into a single platform is termed as integration. Integration is the name given to a specific acquisition cycle or business merger in which other businesses are integrated and eventually disposed by enterprises. One of the most significant things that must not be neglected is that various business papers of the organization should be acquired (Faulkner, Teerikangas, and Richard, 2012).

Answer no.1- Bill Bailey's Position on the Merger

The theory that might be used by the chairman of the board of the Utah Opera Organization, Bill Bailey, named as “ME-I” Theory of Organization Consolidation: Avoiding Merger-Encouraged-Individualism that is specifically applied for supporting this practice based on merger. On the basis of this merger theory, organizations are offered with synergistic opportunities for improvement and also for share market. With this practice, employees are facilitated with benefits and gains involving the achievement of skills and competencies, spreading of market awareness, and multiple career opportunities. According to the above-mentioned theory, Organizational Citizenship Behavior is conceptualized as a discretional nature, not comprising of any formal necessity segments for workers. It is accountable for promoting the efficient and effective functioning within the organization. Bill Bailey can also use the theory of motivation goal setting in order to support the merger process which is based on goal setting. The goal setting has four motivational aspects which include the direct attention, regulate effort, and increase the sustainability. Hence, according to this theory, Bill Bailey can direct his employees attention towards the oriented activities. Therefore, the theory of motivation can be used to encourage the employees in the best interest of the organization (Kreitner and Kinicki, 2010).

The motivation theory of Frederick Herzberg can be used by Mr. Parker to convince Mrs. Abravanel. According to the theory that motivation is the characteristic of the job satisfaction which Mr. Parker can effectively use to convince for the merger and acquisition process. Hence, the Herzberg's theory motivator is used to compare job satisfaction and job dissatisfaction. Mr. Parker persuaded Mrs. Abravanel that the employees will be labeled motivators with strong efforts and good performance which will boost up their level of satisfaction. Although, Mrs. Abravanel was completely against the merger but Mr. Parker ensured her that the merger will fulfill the dream of her husband's legacy by securing the full time professional statuses of their musicians. Therefore, the merger will be quite beneficial for the symphony musicians as they will continue to keep their full time status as well as they can also secure their positions.
