The paper will take into consideration two famous poems, one is Daffodils by William Wordsworth whereas, the other one is Spring by Gerard Manley Hopkins.

Themes of the poems

In the poem Daffodils by William Wordsworth, the poem begins in the past tense and seems to be the present report of an incident just experienced. The speaker has been astonished by the sudden appearance, or at least his sudden awareness, of a host of daffodils (Barker, 54 - 69).
