Introduction

Sexual addiction is considered not only about sex but this disorder involves emotional and sexual abuse, trauma, neglecting, and many other issues. Sexual addiction becomes more critical as sex is the private matter of a person and often such issues remain unspoken. This paper presents pastoral counseling for describing the consequences of sexual addiction. As pastoral counseling deals with psychology as well as theology, it shall help the person in recovering from the disorder. Also, the paper discusses that how the pastor may practically apply the biblical contents while providing pastoral counseling to the sexual addicts.

People suffering from sexual addiction may feel that they are alone suffering from this disorder but discussions would reveal that there are thousands of others going through the same issues. Due to the private nature of sex and related issues, people often feel ashamed of discussing about their addiction. However, it is important to confess the addiction and behaviors, in order to treat the disorder and avoid the consequences which may make the situations even worse.
