Introduction

It is the diversity and the dissimilarity between the regions and the inhabitants of this world that render the connotation of this world being non-monotonic. Let it be the specs of mankind or the values and lifestyles endured by them, each one of these factors greatly differ in traits and characteristics, which play a pivotal role in enhancing the factor of diversity of this world. However, in the current era, the advent of globalization has played a pivotal role in endeavouring to turn those diverse traits or cultures in to one big globally accepted culture. However, undoubtedly, globalization has been successful in bringing people of diverse cultural background together, yet each culture still possesses its own significance and stand alone traits or characteristics. Therefore, this paper endeavours to undertake the similarities, differences, as well as the effect of one culture's practices on to the individuals belonging to or practicing the norms of a totally different culture. Hence, the two distinct cultures that will be under the limelight in this paper are the Guyanese culture and the American culture, and the effect of the later culture.

Culture

The literal connotation is cultural is inferred as the common practices of a society pertaining to their living or lifestyles. The broad umbrella of culture entails the factors or the general an popular characteristics of a society in relation to the habits, lifestyles, languages, traditions, occasions of the inhabitants.

Guyanese Culture

With respect to the geographical location, Guyana is believed to be amongst the integral land or region that is included in the essential parts of the Caribbean. It is a general belief that the Guyanese culture is fundamentally the amalgamation of numerous other cultures or clearly indicates the influence of the other cultures, such as Indian, African, French, Chinese, and many others. However, it is a general connotation that the Guyanese culture shares major interests and characteristics with numerous islands of West Indies.

As discussed earlier, Guyanese culture shares the influence of numerous other cultures, as well; therefore, it can be comprehended that the same influence is liable to be witnessed in the celebration or the cultural events of this region. Amongst the primary cultural events that are celebrated there are Christmas, Mashramani, Easter, Diwali and Phagwah.

Major Languages

Having a significant influence of the European elements since initial times, the factor which was excessively influenced was that of the language. Therefore, in current times, the official language of this region is the English langue; where as, some domestic dialects tend to prevail, as well.

The Guyanese culture is equally rich in both these domains. This region has produced some world renowned authors, whose work is relished by hundreds of readers.
