The health information system database seems to be highly specialized functional and structural units integrated in a particular hospital environment. It is an electronic record of the medial history of the patient which ensures that the medical data of the patient is shared and stored in a network of connected systems. The PCEHR will bring key health information from a number of different systems together and present it in a single view.
