Physiology of Human Body

Introduction

The paper presents human body an organism that has physiologically evolved to become suitable to its environment. The paper discusses various organs and structures of the human body with the help of a labeled diagram to illustrate physiology of the human body and significance of its presence in the environment.

Discussion

In its entirety, human body is known as organism, which is composed of various organ systems. Each of these organs is comprised of a number of organs, and they are complimented by each other's functions (Contmedia, n.d.). Organs such as spinal cord, liver, brain, stomach (figure 1) are placed within a body cavity, and study to explore the functioning of these organs is called physiology (BTEC, n.d.).

Human body has the ability to readily retort to changing environmental strains in numerous cultural and biological ways. Human body is capable of acclimatizing to varied humidity and temperature. For example, while travelling to high altitudes; human body adjusts in order to provide sufficient oxygen to its cells. Moreover, human bodies consistently react in numerous physiological ways to external and internal stresses such as water and air pollution, viral and bacterial infections, overcrowding and dietary imbalance (O'Neil, 2012).

Organization of Human Body

To state the fact, the largest organ of human body is skin that weights approximately 4.5 kg. Human body is organized in six levels including chemical, cell, tissues, organ and organism as illustrated by figure 2:

Chemical Level

At this level, various small balls or atoms are combined together to structure molecule.

Cell Level

Molecules form organelles, for example, cell is made up by nucleus and plasma membrane.

Tissue Level

Tissues are made up by similar cells and materials from surroundings.

Organ Level

At this level, various tissues are combined together to create organs, for instance, urinary bladder.

Organ System Level

An organ system is made up by two or more organs such as kidney and urine bladder.

Organism Level

An organism is made up by various organ systems, as illustrated by figure 3:

Human Organ Systems

Human body is composed of various organ systems that work together to throw life in human body. These organ systems include circulatory system, respiratory system, digestive system, and lymphatic system.

Circulatory System

It is a transport system that pumps and channels blood to and from various organs of the body including heart, lungs, and blood vessels (arterioles, ...
