Introduction

A strategy refers to a planned pathway which leads an Organization towards its desired goals. It is a combination of tasks and shorter goals which lie in diversified domains; however, when put together, they form a unified whole which is greater than the sum of its parts. As much as setting a strategy is important, what is more important is to first set a plan for that strategy.

Darity (2008) defines planning as the process of having a look into the future, establishing something regarding it, developing a vision of the probable state of affairs, and designing ways of actually achieving that state. For a better understanding of how the strategies are developed, and how they fit in with other management criteria, an overview of different factors is required.

Organizational Strategy

For better understanding of the role of strategy and how it fits with the Organizational missions/vision and key drivers, an interview was conducted with Mr. Rezkalla Khalife who owns a construction company named KGC Khalifeh. In his experiential period, Mr. Khalife had to work through many stages of Organizational development; and throughout those periods he implemented several strategies at different times. One of the most prominent of these strategies has been mentioned below.

Differentiation Strategy

Differentiation refers to placing and promoting one's products as apart and different from a competitor's offerings. Although differentiation can also be in the form of brand name recognition, mostly it comes in the form of product differentiation. In order to pursue this dream of the owner Mr. Rezkalla Khalifeh, he implemented the differentiation strategy by implementing the following:

Top Quality Raw Materials & Quality Assurance Cell

Differentiation does not only come in the form of product design, but also requires the highest quality material to build the final product. In order to ensure that every piece of wonder produced by KGC Khalifeh deserves the praise of stakeholders, it is necessary that they reflect their value not only in the form of their view but also through their quality. Therefore, contracts had been signed with the best suppliers of the industry to make sure everything went as planned.

To keep tabs on things and make sure no errors were made in this crucial step of buying quality supplies, a quality assurance cell was also developed. The quality assurance cell was designated with only the task to check raw material quality, and guarantee everything was of the top notch quality.
