The image of police has been changing in the USA due to their different conduct and behavior with different people apart from the law. The attitude of the US police has been discriminated with the different citizens; especially blacks are being discriminated whereas whites are given favor by the police department. The responsibility of Police officers is to make sure the security and safety of the common public against a variety of offenses and crimes (Gabbidon, SL & Higgins, 2009). They are certainly the agents to control the society conducts. Basically, one of the characteristic traits of them is the legal right to use powerful force all the way through the manner of the duties which are performed by them. Though, any misbehavior; corruption and discrimination, by the on the behalf of police officer can surely not go without punishment. The practice of power in opposition to illegal conducts is allowed in the best concern of the civilians. Though, a little lack of care on the side of the police officers can leads to loss of lives of blameless citizens. It can, in no situations, be allowed in the regulation of the state or country. Illegal use of authority and power does not have any optimistic results on the society. A conflict of race is an unusual result that is ordinary in situations where the police force uses a weapon exclusive of any justified explanation. Mistrust and hostility in the police department can leads to difficulties on the general public (Heraux, 2002). Because of this a harmful outcome takes place on the society if the police do not utilize their control authority. The one who actually is the offender of the crime should be punished and one who is innocent must be protected. In this case, the right usage of lethal and less than deadly power by the officials of police holds huge significance (Thys, 2010).
