Introduction

This research report is about my patient and his overall treatment and health care issues during his stay at the hospital. This research report basically deals with the case of Mr. P who was admitted to Rouge Valley Hospital on Sept 18, 2012. He is 86 years old male, admitted to the hospital for a T.U.R.P (Transurethral Resection of the Prostate). Mr. P was transferred as a post-op patient to 5 East floor in a two-bed room around noon. He also had a CBI (Continuous Bladder Irrigation). CBI is a continuing insertion of a sterilized solution inside the bladder,

Continuous bladder irrigation is an ongoing infusion of a sterile solution into the bladder, normally by using a closed system of three-way irrigation that contains a catheter which is triple-lumen. One lumen drains the urine; other one inflates the balloon of catheter and the final lumen carries the solution of irrigation (Perry& Potter, 2002).

Life History of Patient

On inquiring, Mr. P told that he was Anglican, married and lived in Scarborough with his wife. He had three girls and a boy as his children and all of them were married. He was a grandfather of eleven grandchildren. He was employed in Union Bank, Toronto on the post of Senior Officer. His wife was not a working lady but a housewife because it was Mr. P's wish that his wife must stay at home with the children as an extremely helpful and compassionate mother. He additionally stated that at his teenage, he was a good player of soccer, and after that he preferred to become a player of tennis with the intention of spending few moments with his son who had a great affection for tennis. Mr. P gave an impression of planning span of his life in an incredibly convenient and controlled means as he told that he had adhered with the sport of golf after his retirement at the age of 65 years. After getting sequestration from his job, he started to enjoy his family life at one fell swoop. During his conversation, Mr. P further added that he loved making “Rose Wine” and put an emphasis as well that he was famous among his friends' circle and relatives as the best manufacturer of wine, which was beyond price for every person who had tasted it. He reported that he was used to take one glass of wine daily. He always had a look on his meals, to make sure that he included adequate salad. He never liked to consume greasy items of food and as a substitute he preferred baked food prepared at home because his wife was an excellent cook (Personal Statement, 2012).

History of Present Illness
