Introduction

This research on Organizational Change and Leadership has taught me a lot of things. First of all I would like to extend my gratitude to my family, friends and my faculty members as my research would have not been possible to even start without their tireless assistance and moral support. This research has so far given me a very positive attitude toward the discipline of research and I am very positive that the final part of this research project would positively contribute to my overall academic growth as well as my personal growth.

This is because a person's research is one of the biggest academic achievements and this is something one feels proud of. I hope that my efforts are going to benefit a lot of people associated to the said field of study as well as to anyone who is interested in enhancing their knowledge in the field of organizational change and the role of leadership in the bringing about a smooth change. I hope that my academic contribution would be useful to the future generation in becoming better organizational leaders. (Burns 2009, 25-32)

Review on Social Change

Social change means a change of any kind, taking place for some time in the social community, groups, institutions, organizations and societies in their relations with each other, as well as with individuals. (Alvesson 2008, 535-563)Social development is seen as a special case of social change, with a focus towards improving / complications / progress or regress in the direction.

Thus, social changes, which include social progress, determine the development. (Burrell & Morgan 2008, 45-6-56)Others, who do not carry any positive or negative sense, defined as social change. In this case, the same social changes in society, sometimes described as the progress / regress, and sometimes as a simple social change. (Kellerman 2008, 60-62)

Social change a higher level usually lead changes in lower level. Changes in lower level usually do not lead to changes at higher levels, unless these changes do not become widespread and are not cumulative. Additionally, some sociologists identify different kinds of social change. (Macdonald 2005, 97-101)

Classification of social change

Structural Changes in the structure of different social transformation

Functionality

Changes in the functions of particular social institutions and organizations

Procedural

Taking place in social interaction and relationships between various communities, institutions, organizations(Kellerman 2008, 60-62)

Motivational

Change in the motivation of individual-typical activities takes place.

All these kinds of social change are interrelated, provoking one another, and hence lead to a permanent social dynamics of society. The greatest interest of sociologists is social changes that are identified as social development. Through this study I learned to determine what changes and what aspects of society are in progress and setbacks. (Kellerman 2008, 60-62)
