A Poster Presentation-Can we embed Governance by taking a Quality Approach?

Summary

In last few years, IT has emerged as the backbone for the performance of various business functions. With its increased role in the enterprise, the IT function has changed. It is no more considered only as a technology partner but now it is also considered as a strategic partner. Due to this revolution, IT infrastructure is leading towards a highly adaptive and centralized model. In this paper, the impact of quality approach on governance will be evaluated and discussed.

With the evolution of IT organizations, from technology providers into service providers, it is necessarily required to take IT management from a different perspective. The difference between IT Governance and IT Service Management has been subject to myths and confusion. The term effective infrastructure management refers to the empowering the control of the infrastructure and increasing return on computing assets, the data it generates and the devices it contains (Grembergen,2004,p.124). In the next stage, it is seen by IT service management (ITSM) that IT organizations are actively involved in determining the services that are demanded by their ...
