Introduction

The population of United States is increasingly becoming diverse and one of the biggest reasons is immigration. Research indicates that the racial and the ethnic minority groups will soon represent a population's majority. Increasing diversity enhanced the professional's need to respond in a culture sensitive way to the diverse communities and individuals (Borjas, 2009, p. 55-71). Immigration in United States increased due to several reasons that may include economic hardships, natural disasters, wars, recession, poverty, political struggle or unemployment in the country of origin (Mintz, 2010, p. 383-385).

The largest minority group in United States is the Latinos, which marks their presence with 44.3 million individuals that constitutes for 15% of the total population. Whereas, Asian American currently make up only for 4.2% but it's growing rapidly differences (Guendelman et.al. 2009, p. 351-362).

Data from the most recent census in United States reported 20% of the total child population as the immigrant children and this figure will increase by 30% till 2015.Transition process is always difficult for the families and their children, because it is very stressful to start a whole new life at a new place (Mintz, 2010, p. 383-385). This difficulty may results into many cultural and life way conflicts. Immigrant children and their behavioral problems are the global issue. They required intense attentions as if overlooked by the concerned authorities can result into serious problem at the global level. This issue significant affects the child and young personal development. Learners need particular methods of teaching and learning activities (Borjas, 2009, p. 55-71).

Discussion

Problem Statement

This research paper is an effort based review of the literatures that focuses on the issues and challenges faced by the immigrant children. And understanding these issues may help in developing better learning practices of child development (Pyke, 2009, p. 240-255).

Although the children from the immigrant possess individual and cultural strengths, they come across many challenges. They often navigate the stressful process of acculturation from a point of social inconvenience. This difficulty may include their limited language skills or lack of support from family or institutional. This research paper focuses on the immigrant children's problem and challenges. Better understanding of this issue will help in developing a better curriculum and learning activities differences (Guendelman et.al. 2009, p. 351-362).

There are several issues of the immigrant children that affect child development. Immigrant children usually come across the challenges and problems like low educated parents, racism and ethnic issues, discrimination, lack of support or may be poverty.

The other highlighted issues hinder child development includes language barriers, personality and confidence issue and problems in the work settings (Pyke, 2009, p. 240-255).

It is necessary to develop the child development learning practices according to their leaning abilities. Emotional and psychological adjustment affects child development significantly (Borjas, 2009, p. 55-71).
