Product Lifecycle Management

Product Lifecycle Management refers to two terms. Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is the process of managing engineering knowledge of the product lifecycle from concept, through the stages of design, detailed design, production, marketing and sales, service, and recycling or disposal (Carlile, 2002, pp. 442-455).

The methodology for manufacturing and launching a mobile phone will integrates people, data, processes and business systems and aims to provide information about the product organization, including producing the total enlarged organization subsystem providers.

Product Lifecycle Management (Marketing) (PLC) refers to managing the commercial aspects of the product life cycle in the market, from market penetration to the decline of the product. The model treats themes of costs, pricing and marketing and sales measures appropriate for each step (Cooper & Kleinschmidt, 2005, pp. 374-391).

This mobile article applies engineering knowledge management methodology regarding the design product (PLM).

Management systems and product lifecycle are the one of the tools of information technology in an organization that deals with manufacturers in developing products. Additional Information systems include systems for customer relationship management (CRM), supplier's management and managing the supply chain (SCM), and intra-organizational management, enterprise resource planning and production management (ERP) (Carlile, 2002, pp. 442-455).

Methodology of Prototype & Design of a Mobile Phone

In mobile manufacturing and software engineering, pattern Prototype will be designed through template designed for cases where want to create an object as a copy of a given object, which is its character known only at runtime (Griffin, 2010, pp. 429-458). Mobile prototype and design pattern is useful in cases where getting a pointer to a given object, and wants to make a copy. Since there is no simple solution to the problem, we need the Prototype pattern for mobile manufacturing. Pattern prevents writing of sub - class aimed at producing an, and saves the resources needed to create an object in the traditional way and simultaneously using new (Cooper & Kleinschmidt, 2005, pp. 374-391).

Significant Features of the Mobile Phone

The chosen product is a mobile phone for the new product development and launch. The mobile phone manufacturing will involve several stages of assembly manufacturing. The components will be imported from the region where available at the most suitable prices and the assembling facility will be set up in china to save cost. Initially the manufacturing and assembling facility will be established through sub contracting until it reaches breakeven. The important components of a cell phone will include, batteries, circuits, chassis, buttons, screens, microchips etc (Cooper & Kleinschmidt, 2005, pp. 374-391).

Significance & Usage of CAD in Mobile Manufacturing

Computer-aided Design (CAD) is the effective implementation of computer systems to aid in the development, creation, analysis and modification & optimization of product design. In Mobile manufacturing CAD is implemented to enhance the cell phones productivity of the product designer, it increases the product quality and design and also it will improvise the infrastructure all the way through documentation, and to produce a database for product ...
