My nursing career

Career of being a nurse holds many roles and responsibilities. As a nurse I have to work closely with the physician and be an essential part of the healthcare team. We have to administer the entire doctor's prescriptions on an on-going basis; perform treatments and examine them; and support the patients with care through the period of recovery and therapies. This career demands more interaction with the patients than a doctor has, patients have to be put at ease and assist them in their recovery and well-being.

We help patient's health recovery, avoid diseases and support patients to fight the illness. It's our duty to monitor, review, and verify patient symptoms and their reactions and developments. Our career grows and develops in a continuously changing environment. We are oriented with latest technologies and training periods and various educational programs. It is a very interactive career with related to caring and sharing (Margot 2003).

Nursing career plays a key role in my life. May be it any place, any people of any age, of any income and of any background, it is the only career which makes an interaction with others in a lifetime. The experience of my nursing career is remarkable. The practical trainings provide confidence to move ahead with a positive approach. With nursing career, I can choose my own favorite specialization where knowledge and skills are best fitted. If it seems like that the skills one possesses are not suitable for one particular area of expertise then the option to change the area of expertise is available easily. In nursing career the career advancement path is always open where one can climb up the ladder hierarchically as well as financially (Santiago, 2011).
