Protocols and Servers

Introduction

In the world if Information and Technology, the use of different internet technologies and communication protocols are continuing to increase day by day. In the field of internet technologies and protocols, several advancements take place. By the advancement in technologies, the use of the internet is a core component. It provides numerous facilities and flexibilities that other technologies do not provide at this extent. Network architecture provides assistance in communication between two servers. This architecture contains layered model. The advantage of the layered model is testing, and evaluation becomes feasible when network is breakable into small parts.

Discussion

Internet Technology

This terminology is referring to different applications that we use over the internet. In this technology, there are various applications. Users take support of these applications to access the internet. Those applications are TCP/IP, security, e-mail, HTML, XML, e-commerce and new technologies. TCP/IP is a protocol use for network addressing. Security is use to provide safety for severs and networks against different threats and malwares. A network over the internet can be secure either by gateway or by proxy. E-mail is the application that is use for communication purposes over the internet. HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. This is a low-level language use to create different websites over the internet. XML is the language use in databases and servers. E-Commerce is one the latest and pivotal application of internet technology. This technology provides the business men to do their businesses over the internet. New technologies contain network application, JINI application and JAVA consoles.

Communication Protocol

Communication protocol is the terminology that allows the internet users to communicate in this global village. These protocols provide the medium of communication between the users and internet. The base of these protocols is the 7-layered OSI model. Open System Interconnection (OSI) network model presented by International Organization for Standards (ISO). The information is transfer from one computer to another computer by using this model there are 7 layers in this model. They are application layer, presentation layer, session layer, transport layer, network layer, data link layer and physical layer. There are numerous types of protocols. They are TCP/IP protocols, network security protocols, voice over internet protocols (VOIP), wide area network (WAN) protocols, local area network (LAN) protocols, metropolitan area network (MAN) protocols, storage area network (SAN) protocols, ISO protocols, Cisco protocols, Novell Netware and protocols, IBM System Network Architecture (SAN) and protocols, Apple computer protocols, DECnet and protocols, SS7/C7 protocols and other protocols.

There are numerous different protocols for the aforementioned types. We will briefly discuss each of the protocols. TCP/IP protocols are the protocols that are use for addressing between one user to another. Network Security protocols are in use to secure the networks. Different types of protocols are in use for this purpose. VOIP protocols are responsible to provide medium to communicate the voice over internet. WAN protocols are use for communication networks that are at the wider distance from each other. For example, two networks in two different ...
