CHAPTER 2: LITERATURE REVIEW

Introduction

This particular chapter is going to do a review of various researches which are conducted in the area of concern so far. This particular chapter is going to lead the researcher to have a good idea of all the relevant information which is there for topic being discussed in the chapter. This chapter is going to deal with a very important area which is so far considered by numerous researchers but still need a huge amount of concentration. The African Americans have been a part of United States from centuries, but they have faced do many ill behaviors in the part many year. Here, the paper will be looking on the facts related to the issues confronted by them at the time of being awarded the doctorates. This research is although going to keep the female population of the selected group into account in most of the part. This is being done as the women were the group of African American which has faced more issues then the males. This fact makes the need of making them part of the research really important.

In this paper the researcher is going to first of all explore the topic, and then this will lead the researcher towards a very in-depth over viewing of the history associated with the African American Women and their earlier achievements which have made them worth discussing in the topic. This will then lead literature review towards the matters like increased level of awareness, role of the public intellectual, issues confronted by afircan amerians, limited population of african american faculty, classroom experiences, responses o the african american communities, gender gap in black Ph.D. awards, raacial Disparities, role and pace of the women and profile of the group in the overall American Ph D. awards. This will then end up with a summary of the ovarll chapetr in the end of the chapter.

Exploring the topic

There have been significant amounts of work done so far for the sake of exploring the experiences of African American women during their doctoral programs. It is seen that there are so many African American women who are enrolled but are not part of the real world in the end. It is seen that in so many cases, the researchers are seen to make choices regarding the fact that what and how they are going to share.
