Synopsis

This paper is formulated to argue upon the problems of color-line in the twentieth century. In this paper, racism is discussed in context to the Bandung Conference, which was conducted in Indonesia in 1955. In this conference, 29 Asian and African countries had participated, and discussion was done about world peace, nationalism, racism and the impact of colonialism. Researchers claim that global racism started with the advent of electronic media, and western countries were the major trend setter of whiteness as the symbol of prestige and statues. This discrimination has further increased after World War II, there it had become significant for Asian and African region to construct an alliance to counter the impacts of governance from super power countries, which are principally white colored. This conference had united various countries of Asian region against the racial attack of Western countries. Varies intellectuals are quite controversial about the war of terrorism that United States is conducting in Asia. But, there is no doubt that White supremacy initiated racism, however, colonialism widespread it in Asian and Africa, and other third world countries.

Introduction

Twentieth century is very important with respect to various events and developments that had happened in these hundred years. In these years, it is considered that there had been the most significant changes taken in place in the twentieth century, which has drastically changed the perspective that how people see and perceive the world around them.

There are several technological and other developments happened in this frame of time, but the most concerning development, which has significantly changed the perspective of the world, was the wide-spreading of the electronic media. The development of the electronic media has drastically changed the perspectives of the people, of thinking, seeing and perceiving the world. The biggest concern that electronic media has brought into is the battle of the brands, which is through the advent of advertising. When brands started using electronic media to communicate to the people, they started selecting their target audience. Thus, in the battle of selecting target audience and proving the competitor's target audience as deprived, the brands introduced the phenomenon of portraying racism. There are various ads of the twentieth century that can demonstrate racial discrimination and injustice.

However, this discrimination was there amongst the people since ages. But, the power of electronic media has disseminated in the bloodstreams of every common person on this planet. Now days, there are numerous political and governmental issues that most ethnicities are facing in this world, and this is principally because of the racial differences that has made someone believe better than other. I would not state media as the sole architect of this phenomenon across nations; nevertheless, it has played a significant in portraying white as more superior than blacks.
