Introduction

Today, given the difficult economic situation and the global economic crisis, companies are becoming increasingly difficult to predict the future situation in the business and more difficult to make responsible decisions and some companies simply cannot do without the use of Business Intelligence (Liu, 2011). The use of business intelligence systems can take into account all aspects of business, collecting disparate data from different departments of a business, to build a single repository of information and to provide a convenient means to generate reports, analysis, and forecasting.

In the era of constant growth in information technology, there are more and more new tools used in everyday business. In this regard, there is high involvement of Business Intelligence (BI) system, as it provides businesses with meeting its desired goals and objectives. Business Intelligence system is a process of data integration across the enterprise in a single data warehouse, to which end users can perform ad hoc queries and generate reports for analysis of existing data.

In other words, the goal of business intelligence is to store data that can be accessed by the user and make business decisions based on data analysis. Such systems are commonly called analytical or descriptive systems because when referring to the data users get the information you need to make the best business solutions (Liu, 2011). Moreover, they help in the analysis of the market, the sale of products or services. The more we know about the product or service, the greater the probability of success in a competitive market. It therefore provides exclusive information that is analyzed based on historical data.

The concept of Business Intelligence (BI) has been around for over a decade now and slowly the doubts that used to appear regarding the systems architecture as well as implementation of the system is narrowing as the system now involves business analysis through synthesized metrics, bringing together all available information on the company, with the aim of improving decision.

The article describes aspects of the implementation of business intelligence systems in modern enterprises with particular emphasis on the benefits of this type of deployment. Information to support the decision-making process exists in many systems as these systems are spread throughout the company (Al-Hazmi, 2010). However, collecting data and presenting them in a unified form is very expensive, time consuming, and there is a danger of duplication of data. As a result, companies are looking for new technologies to support decision-making processes.

Many companies today have difficulties in planning, execution, forming plan-fact reporting, and monitoring the effectiveness of the business, as these processes are carried out by hand or in a heterogeneous information systems and are based on anecdotal evidence.

With business intelligence, companies can improve the processes of planning, forecasting, and budgeting, to quickly obtain the necessary information for timely decision-making. Many organizations can reduce the cost of software for different purposes and take advantage of the extensive and unified BI-infrastructure.
