Introduction

A principal is the leader of the institution. A strong leader leads by setting good examples. A principal should be enthusiastic, optimistic, and good in time management and listen to what their subordinates are saying. An effective quality of a leader is that they are always available to guide the staff, teachers, students and their parents. In this paper, we would be discussing the knowledge and the competencies required for the role of a principal, keeping in mind the Minnesota principal competencies (Hallinger & Heck, 2010).
