Introduction

Nursing is undoubtedly one of the most pursued professions all over the world. However, it is important to note that there is always a set of reasons or experiences that helps one to choose any particular field or discipline. Similarly, I believe that the individuals pursuing nursing do so under the influence of any experience, memory or sentiment that motivates them to chose nursing as their career path. Also, similar to many other disciplines, nursing is not an easy profession to chose. However, in my opinion if the reason behind choosing nursing is strong enough, then they will also motivate an individual to deal with all the challenges and hardships on the way.

Thesis Statement

I believe that every individual forms his own philosophy on the basis of his won experiences. This philosophy further helps an individual in various stages of decision making in life that includes decision making in career paths as well. Hence, I believe that for an individual to pursue nursing must have some aspects of his philosophy coincides with the overall fundamentals and principles of nursing.

Philosophy and personal Philosophy of Nursing

For me, the word philosophy refers to the set of principles, logics and reasons behind any concepts, theory or even an opinion. However, I also believe that more useful philosophy will only highlight the accuracy and rational behind the opinion or concept.

In my opinion, it is very essential for an individual to develop his own exquisite philosophy regarding the profession of nursing. The challenges that an individual and the difficulties an individual will face while studying and practicing will only be dealt more effectively only if the person is clear of his philosophy of nursing.

My Overall Values and Beliefs

I have always believed that individuals that are more fortunate than others in any respect, should help and assist other for their welfare and development. These aspects may be wealth, health, knowledge, expertise, skills etc. I believe that helping other is the best way to acknowledge my blessings and appreciating them to the fullest.

Connection between my Values and Nursing Principles

I believe the very reason why any individual would pursue nursing is that it is one of the frontline and direct ways of helping others in need. However, nursing offers a platform more organized and disciplined for the sake of others welfare.

Impact of My Values and the Values of Nursing on the Society

I feel there exist a very strong relation between my values and the values of nursing. The factor that relates my values with the values of nursing is the concern for the health and life of individuals without any bias. Hence, every citizen in a society receiving proper and equal medical treatment and attention ultimately refers to a more healthy and content society. Therefore, welfare of the overall society through the welfare of individuals is the point where my values coincide with the values of nursing.
