Introduction

Rehabilitation is referred as the process of eliminating any disorder from a person by using different educational strategies or therapies. Rehabilitation may greatly help in restoring the good conditions of a person. Therefore rehabilitation may greatly help in restoring any criminal to a productive and useful life. It is often observed that, rehabilitation may greatly help those people who are mot permanent criminals (Raynor & Robinson, 2009). It is because of the reason that, rehabilitation enables these people to spend healthy and productive life while contributing their part in the development of the society. Researches and studies demonstrate that, in criminal justice, the main objective of rehabilitation is to prevent and discourage the habitual offending. It is because of the reason that, giving different punishments may provoke the criminals to do more offense, while rehabilitation may bring positive attitude in the criminals and may motivate them to play their effective role in the betterment of society (Siegel &Worrall, 2011). This study aims to explore the meaning of rehabilitation in the respective filed, i.e. criminal law.

In the terms of criminal law, rehabilitation is referred as the path or way to bring back a criminal to the normal state, in order to make them a productive citizen of the society. It is often observed that, in criminal law, the activity of rehabilitation is paved with pertinent education, hundreds of hours of therapy and more. These therapies and education may greatly help the criminals to come back in their normal lives and efficiently operate in the society. Researches and analysis of various studies demonstrates that, rehabilitation is the time taking activity, but once it is executed correctly, it may change the entire health conditions of the criminal (Siegel &Worrall, 2011).
