Abstract

The study has explored the concept of “Relation between the Principals' Leadership and Motivation of Teachers” in a holistic context. The main focus of this research is on highlighting the factors that can demotivate the teachers. This is a research paper that is based on identifying the relationship of principal's leadership between the motivation levels of teachers within a schooling system that is based in K5-12th grades. A questionnaire can be used for analyzing the motivation level of teachers in a school. It is extremely importance that the culture of the school should be based on such aspects that are helpful in enforcing strong relationship among the principal and teachers. Additionally, it is stated by various researchers that an effective listening attitude can be helpful in formation of effective relationship among the teachers and their leader (principal).

Introduction

The role of principal is of great importance in an educational institution as he or she holds the responsibility of leading it. The school is a place that requires people who can develop a nation. For these effective teachers are required. The staff development programs can be very helpful in building up required standard of teachers. Educational leadership can be only maintained through quality educational systems and procedures. The system of education is mainly dependent on its leader, who is the principal of the educational institution. Positive relationship can be only formed within an educational institution if the principals and teachers have proper communicational channel among them. The channel of communication can be formed with mutual consensus.

Teachers should be well aware of their duties, responsibilities and tasks, so that they can effectively manage it accordingly. Whenever, there is a communicational gap among principals and teachers conflicts and issues are found. Most of the researchers have stated that principals are mostly found spending their time in leadership activities so they have no involvement in classroom happenings. They are unaware of what problems his or her staff is facing while teaching in classrooms. The decline in standard of education can be one of the most visible clues that there is something going wrong in the educational system. Principals are not only responsible for strategizing and enhancing the educational system, but they have another important responsibility of keeping the school's staff motivated and linked to the educational institution's mission. These days, the leadership responsibilities of principals have become extremely challenging as they have to implement collaborative leadership practices and approaches into the educational system.
