Richard Furman

Richard Furman (1755-1725 Oct. August 9, 1825) was an influential director of the Baptist in Charleston, South Carolina, USA. Furman is born on October 9, 1755 in Esopus, New York. Furman is one of the founders of Charleston Bible Society and Religious Tract Society. In 1821, Furman was one of the organizers of the South Carolina State Baptist convention, and was elected its president, serving until his death in August 1825.
