Topic Chosen

The title of the topic that has been chosen for the Research Analysis Project is “Financial Analysis of the Organization for a three Period”. The financial analysis will cover the comparison of the two companies known as Apple Incorporation and Nokia Corporation. The topic was chosen after going through a lot of deliberations. The objective was to select the best topic for the research. Therefore, this was the first step performed for starting the research.

Reason for Choosing the topic

The reason because of which this topic is chosen is to conduct a financial analysis of the two major mobile companies known as Apple Corporation and Nokia Corporation. It would help to make a comparison of the financial position of both the companies. In this way, the knowledge of which is company is much more financially sound will be achieved. The selection of the topic is certainly a major exercise. The reason is that the entire outcome is dependent on the selection of the topic. When the wrong topics are selected, the whole research then suffers as a result which certainly is not a positive aspect. The preparation of the research consists of several issues which must be assessed in detail. This is the reason why the list of topics is provided to the students in order to facilitate the decision making process for selecting a topic. Therefore, this was the second step for executing the research project.

Reason for Choosing the Company

The reason because of which these two companies known as Apple Corporation and Nokia Corporation have been chosen because they are the leading cellular companies in the world. The best comparison in terms of financial analysis requires that both the companies must represent one particular industry. These companies have done very well on consistent basis in their respective industries. There were some other companies as well which were considered for the research. The companies in the Automobile Industry, Manufacturing Industry and the Banking Industy were also the options.

Aims and Objectives of the Project

To identify the business performance of Apple and Nokia in the telecommunication industry.

Identify players operating in the smart phone market.

Assess the market share and profit of Nokia and Apple.

Reasons for Chosing the Competitor Company

The major reason for choosing the competitor company was to conduct a proper financial analysis of both companies. It was important to have the companies representing one particular industry.
