RESEARCH PLAN

What role does petty theft play in the life of young homeless and the focus age group is 16 to 21

Research Plan

Background and Rationale for the study

There are many incidents as a result of which children of younger age end up on streets. The reason for it is that these children are abandoned and abused by their families. There are many reasons for them being homeless such as death of parents, socio-economic situation in the country, extreme poverty of a family and other conflict as a result of which children flee away from their homes. Today, however, families with children constitute one of the fastest-growing segments of the homeless population and youth are one of the groups most at risk for homelessness. While there is not a plethora of research assessing the link between independent living skills and homelessness in this population, several studies have examined the impact of independent living skills training on homeless adults with mental illness.

Research question

The research question of the study is:

What role does petty theft play in the lives of young homeless and the focus age group is 16 to 21?

What are the measures taken by the concerned authorities in this regard?

Aims of the study

The aim of the study is to determine the role of petty theft in young people's life belonging to age group 16-21. The study will also determine the measures which are taken by the concerned authorities in this regard.

Study population

The population of the study would be based on analyzing the survey of 100 children, which is based on UK children which will help in determining how many children are homeless in UK and what are the activities (such as petty theft ) they are involved. In addition, interviews will also be conducted from the concerned authorities 10 participants in this regard.

Study design

The study design will be based on the descriptive as well as observational studies where the participants will be based on estimating numerical parameters of a single population based on a random sample in UK. The observational study will be cross-sectional which will help in determining the prevalence, attitude, problem and issues by taking a section of population (Bryman, 2012, p.456).

Methods

The research method will be based on the quantitative as the questionnaires will be distributed among the participants to determine the reason they are involved in these activities apart from being homeless. Previous articles will also be referred in order to determine what previous study and records say about this issue and the reason why children are homeless and how it can be resolved. Face to face interviews will also be conducted from the concerned authorities to determine the measures they are taking in this regard (Boud, Walker, 1985, p.85). Research methodology plays a vital part in doing research. The criteria and arrangement of research methodology plays a significant role in conducting the research.

Sampling

The sampling of the study would be based on random sampling where the participants can be easily accessed and the basics processes are being used ...
