Abstract

The research aims at shedding light over the importance of databases in the sector of manufacturing as well as the retailing business. The research highlights the importance of databases for any business that has to maintain their inventory for proper and timely delivery with the best possible quality and efficiency. A great deal of effort has been put in to quote the examples of the real life business and how inventory management affected them in the long run. The research follows the qualitative pattern and collection of secondary information available through various physical and online libraries. As the qualitative methods have the ability to address the most complex issues and provide adequate explanation for any research topic that can clarify the concepts of the research to anyone reading it. We know that qualitative research is quite explanatory and rich in nature which enables the researcher to address any global issue and get the understanding of it to the maximum level, for inventory databases of retailing and manufacturing business the secondary data collection was found to be the most appropriate method because of the above mentioned reasons. The research concludes with the implications of inventory management automation in various aspects along with the advantages and disadvantages of the just-in-time inventory and also provides the significance of database automations in the retailing and manufacturing businesses. It has been found that databases of inventory are equally important for any business, let it be manufacturing or retailing, the management of information and past records can do wonders to the business in the long run.
