I completely agree that media is using advertising to create its own truths that reflect the technique the media thinks the life of the people must be. Jay sheds comprehensive light on this truth along with the detailed discussion on how the media has always been engaged in creating its own prospect of life through images and catchy captions. The world of romanticism and the fantasy media has created through the art of advertisement is so fictional and artificial that it has gone far beyond the limits of reality.

The world in the media has just one purpose and that is to attract more and more customers to the product to be advertised, so that people can buy that even they do not have the need of the product in their life. Chiat gives the example of the De Beer Company's advertising campaign (Chiat, pp.6). He beautifully explains that the attraction created by the clever strategy of the company has brought a big crises over men whose two months salary are not enough to buy the diamonds for their wives. Chiat is very much correct in stating his views about the artificiality of the world of advertisement (Comparison, 2013).

After having read the essay, it is clear that the world of media has greatly affected the individual's ability to design personal truths. The advertisements of smoking with the handsome guy and the gorgeous girl makes the viewers believe that smoking can attract beautiful girls. The same attitude is seen in the Chiat's essay when he says, “these images paint the picture of the ideal family life, the perfect home, what a beautiful woman is and is not” (Chiat, pp.6).
