Risky Teen Sexual Behavior

Abstract

The research is aimed to propose the awareness regarding the risky sexual behaviors and their outcomes among the adolescents. The youth is diverting their interest towards the sexual activities, but without the protection during the sexual activities. They should acquire the habit of using protective measures for avoiding any possible health risk. Their unrealistic optimism should change its shape, and turn to the realistic perspective of risky sexual behavoirs.

Introduction

The majority of the youth of North America is involved in the sexual activities without any precautionary approaches. These practices are causing severe health risks among the youth. There are extensive risks in the case of an ill adolescent involved in these sexual activities. It is needed to critically assess and manage the possible risks of increasing sexual behavior in youth from a different perspective. The psychology of the youth must be taken under consideration with their response towards the sexual activities. They may be inclined towards it due to their personal immunity just for the sake of their satisfaction, without thinking about the possible outcomes of their actions.

Statement of the Problem

The young generation of America is greatly directing towards the sexual needs. They are getting enjoyment in this all. The problem arises, when they do not use any precautionary measures for their safety. Pregnancy is found to be the most common problem, but it carries severe infections with it. The individual does not consider the long-term consequences of his action, but in the end he meets physical and psychological problems.

Source of the Problem

The increasing rate of abortions and unwanted child birth in the United States and Canada notifies the youth's approach to sexual behaviors including severe health risks. The major part of youth between 15-19 years is found to be involved at least one time in having sexual intercourse. The young females, ranging from 23.9% to 45.5%, are reported to have more than one partner of them in sexual activities. Similarly, the involved males' percentage is also dominating in both the United States (50.8%) and the Canada (32.1%), with more than two partners of sex.

Significance of the Problem

The increasing approach to the risky sexual behaviors is causing intense health risks and psychological effects in the youth. At this young age, they are having severe problems because of the infections transmitted during the sexual intercourse. They are needed to be guided in this regard, at least to use precautionary materials during sex behaviors so that they may be helped physically.

Feasibility of the Problem for Study

The research around this social and psychological problem will result in getting a thorough idea and approach about the direction of youth. This will enhance the clinical approach to the problem so that, the affected one can have a better option of either improving their behaviors or getting rid of their personal immunity towards such behaviors.
