Electronic media with its proliferation of cable television and internet occupies the central place in the routine lives of children and adults alike. The impact is beyond any doubt significant and immeasurable and yet it continues to hold academic interest as striking claims unravel.

Critics point the impact as both opportunities; to usher the youngsters into the new era of learning and development, and presents threats as well indicating that children may lose their innocence along with their childhood and respect to authority. The information-rich environment that the children nowadays are posited, to many of the times, distracts them from what they should be doing and focusing upon.
