ASSESSMENT 1CASE STUDYCarey is the full time career for her 65 year old mother {violet}. Violet in the first stage of depression, and has bouts of depression which are managed with medication, Violet needs daily assistance with personal care, medications meals, transport, appointments and her finances. Your role is as one of a term of care workers supporting Violet to live at home with her daughter. You have noticed that Carey's arthritis getting wore and making it more difficult for her to care for Violet2. One morning you arrive and Carey and her mother are still in bed. How would you priorities the complexity of needs in this situation?

Firstly, in such a situation Carey would be given priority because, hers are a comparatively minor case of issues, she suffers from arthritis that would mean her issue might be comparatively easier to resolve then Violet's. Violet's dementia and depression have already made her incapacitated. It can be logically assume the reason for Violet not getting out of bed is simply because Carey wasn't there to help her that morning. Also catering to Violet would take time, which would make the help coming to Carey late. Second reason for catering to Carey's issues first is that getting her back on her feet will give me an extra pair of helpful hands.

3. Identify the possible needs that Carey might have which could impact on Violet?

Severe arthritis and joint pains may cause Carey to be temporarily incapacitated. Since she is unable to rise from the bed without assistance, it goes without saying, that Violet will also be unable to receive Carey's help. Similarly, arthritis limits mobility, If Carey becomes unable to move around freely in a proper fashion, she will be unable to help Violet in fulfilling her routine activities.

4. Identify four career issues and four client issues you could report to your supervisor:

Carey's issues: Arthritis, job problem due to mobility issues, have to provide full care to her mother suffering from dementia, shortage of timeViolets issues: Dementia, Depression, Incapacitation, inability to perform the simplest of tasks

5. Dual diagnosisSelect two clients that you work with that have different diagnosis e.g. intellectual disability and ABI. Describe how their disability impacts on their functioning and list what considerations you would need to take when these clients begin to age.One of the clients I worked with had Depression and Alcohol addiction, while another one suffered from Dyslexia and substance abuse. The client who suffers from depression indulges in alcohol abuse to forget his worries for a while. However, such volumes of alcoholic consumption are having a negative effect on his liver. As he ages, his liver shall be the first organ to start giving problems and issues. Secondly, his temperament and pessimistic outlook when coupled with the inevitable disabilities and sickness that accompanies old age might force him to develop Schizophrenia and attempt suicides.
