Introduction

The thought provoking new book by Joel Garreau, dubbed, Radical Evolution starts with an experiment of thought. He asks the reader to think of sometime in the future, where his or her young daughter comes back from her law school. She returns home talking about her classmates and not about civil or torts method or the Rule applied in any case. It turns out that her classmates are a little unique. Most of them have enhanced in one way or another. She marks the different methods through which these enhancements can be achieved; wireless modems which can download any form of information required directly into the brain, something in resemblance to telepathy, self-healing, and immortality, in theory at least.

The Rationale of this Thought Experiment

Garreau have made use of this thought experiment in order ask the serious queries about the revolutions coming in the fields of technology and genetics that are drastically altering evolution of humans and to ask whether these drastic changes are advantageous or perhaps eventually detrimental to humanity and its existence. The question which I have identified is more essential: why all of these enhanced, smart and talented people are opting for law schools? (www.bookreporter.com)

What makes the Book Interesting?

The most fascinating, yet the best parts of the book are the parts which talks about laboratories and those who work in them, and the special applications that the novel nanotechnology and genetic scientists are presenting to the world. The research which can be both promising as well as horrifying, as it solely depends upon the reader's perception provided any specific scenario. This research is undeniable and significant, and has the potential to change the world forever. The author has also written a couple of good books before hand. These books were milestones ...
