Introduction

Immigrating to a new country is not an easy task. The individual has to adopt the traditions and cultural values of the country. It is hard for the individual to start his/her life all over again in a place where no one knows them. The immigrant has to start to build his/her professional value in the new world. The main task of the individual is to properly sell himself to the employers so that they know how competent the individual is. In order to do so the resume and the resume of the individual must be powerful and convincing so that the employer calls him for an interview. For producing a strong resume and a cover letter, it is vital for the immigrant to do a self reflection and develop a personal development plan in order to assess his strengths and weaknesses. Self-Reflection

Self-reflection is closely associated with concepts such as self-knowledge and self-criticism. For the personal development of every human being, it is important to develop a realistic self-image of oneself. Through self reflection, an individual can easily assess all the strengths and weaknesses. This type of learning is a constructive internal self structuring, reconstruction of cultural knowledge, internal reorganization schemes which enters imbalance, occurs when what the student already knows what you should know, facilitating mediation or interaction with other pairs. Through proper self reflection, an individual can gain knowledge about his/ her strengths and weaknesses. This can assist the individuals to ensure that they overcome their weaknesses. They are able to enhance and further develop their strengths. Overcoming the weakness and enhancing the strengths helps a lot in the self development of an individual.

Personal Development Plan

The purpose of a personal development plan (PDP) is to implement a number of improvements. But the PDP is more than a plan. This is actually a contract you enter into with you and possibly your employer. You agree to take steps and actions to your personal development. This plan can be brief or largely developed, the way you want. But in any case contains the following elements: purpose, action, results, planning, assessment and possible support. The plan will demonstrate an evaluation of an individual's level of skills and will identify their strength and their need for development to ensure success in their academic and professional field.
