Abstract

The topic of this research study is to explore the influence of servant leadership on the organizational structure and organizational design. Related to this topic there are three objectives are developed for this study.

To understand the different characteristic needed for a servant leader.

To define an acceptable behaviour pattern between employees and leaders

To explore if servant leadership traits achieve organizational goal and success

In this qualitative research, the research technique that is adopted is interview. The sample population includes managers of Holiday Inn.

With regard to the first research question the study reveals the following factors as the characteristics of the servant leadership:

Ability to Lead a Team

Leading by Setting Examples

Ability to Remain Involved

Listener

Ability to build a team

Honesty

Clear vision

Serving to others

Personality (smile, positive attitude, soft skills)

Attitude towards job

Quick Decision Making Ability

Related to the second research question the research finds the following factors that reveal the acceptable behaviour between employees and employers.

Trust

Encouragement and Appreciation

Working as One and United Team

Empowerment

With regard to the third objective following answer came into limelight as the relationship between servant leadership and fulfilment of organizational goals.

Practicing servant leadership is highly associated with the goals achievement of the organization

If a manager lacks servant leadership skills and remains unable to attain its goals then training is provided for the adoption of the lacking skills

If a manager lacks servant leadership skills and remains unable to attain its goals then the characteristics can be altered
