Introduction

In the context of the current business environment the global cooperate sector has experienced vast changes. In the traditional perspective the majority of the companies were operating in a manufacturing oriented environment. However in the current business environment the focus of the majority of the organizations of the global scenario has shifted for the manufacturing to the service oriented functions. The service industry has emerged as several changes in the global socio economic environment, have changed the demands of the end customers. Service based operations of the company in the past were utilized as a secondary basis, to the manufacturing capabilities of the company. However in the current scenario the advancements in technology and the enhanced awareness of the customers, has caused the demands for the service industry to develop. The service industry is generally based on providing intangible products for the customers, and it is much differentiated form the manufacturing organizational roles.

The companies in the service sector have to be highly involved in the customer market research initiatives, so as to ensure that the ideal service packages can be provided. Marketing is an essential component in the service industry, as it allows the company to be able to develop a storing brand image (Rees et Al, 2010, pp. 871). As the organizations in the service industry have to provide intangible products to the ends customers, it is very important that the customers have a good perception regarding the organization. Unlike the traditional manufacturing industry, the service industry is completely customer centric and the branding component is more important for this sector.

The Leisure Sector in UK: Service Marketing Issues

The leisure industry in the UK has experienced a positive trend in the current time period, where the demand for various leisure oriented services, has increased within the country. As a developed country the population in the UK, consists of a substantial portion of the population which demands leisure based products/services. There are several forms of industries which are present within this sector, which have a similar type of final service package that they offer to the consumers. The leisure sector in the UK consists of several types of cooperate functions, such as industries including; entertainment, adventure, restaurants, hotels/tourism, pubs, cinemas and several others. In the sector wise basis, there are several changes that have occurred in the leisure sector of the UK business environment (Wheatley et Al, 2011, pp.411). Firstly the government of the country has played a proactive role to bolster the various industries within this sector, and have developed initiatives which can help the various companies enter the relevant industry. In this scenario although the smaller companies have an easier basis to enter the market, the level of competition is very high.
