Should Sexual Education Be Taught In High School?

Introduction

Sex education for children is a highly debated in many countries that it should be approved or not in the school curriculum. Sexuality is a reality of every human being, comprising a set of social psychological phenomena, linked to the emotions and values, of great importance to the individual and society. That is why it requires attention, information and education only and may be known as individual, as a gift that makes you feels good about yourself and others (Sullivan, 259). Sex Education has been studied with great interest worldwide, and many countries have special programs dedicated to sexual information in the Education curriculum, are providing series strategies for teachers in Guidance Sexual and though constantly modified and are usually studied have provided much information on the subject. This paper aims at finding the facts and reasons why should sex education be taught in high school.

Discussion

The scope of sex education are not only such specific relationship between a man and a woman, both married, but also any other of their relationship - in public life, at work, at rest, i.e., any relationship between people of different sexes. Sex education involves not only the moral behavior of adults, but also the moral behavior of children who must be properly educated, and sexually. Sex education is of paramount importance for the further development of the child. It is from those facilities that parents can give him; his future depends on marital status, attitudes toward marriage, to the opposite sex and his behavior in sexual relations. Not to mention the fact that sex education makes it possible to prevent infectious diseases, sexually transmitted diseases. Unfortunately, not all parents and educational institutions provide the full information or information in general on this issue (Sullivan, 311). This gives rise to misunderstanding and mistrust. But it is very important to give your child understand the difference between boys and girls, to explain where do babies come from and what do parents do if their child is noticed during intimacy.

The children in the age of 12 to 19 are physically in the period of sex changing so why not they have a right to learn about this physical turn. Providing sex lessons will enable the juveniles to understand why and how their bodies develop, the change of their sex organ, for example. In addition, they will realize some strange feelings that emerge such as passion toward the opposite gender (Sullivan, 6). Furthermore, sex education is needed to avoid social problems among this age of children. Such problems like early marriage, pregnancy and rape crimes are triggered from sex abuse. By allocating these lessons, the children will know how to deal with their affection safely. In my opinion, sex education ought to be taught in school, although it should not include advice on contraception but should be restricted to scientific facts about human reproduction, including conception and development of the embryo.
