SITUATIONAL CRIME PREVENTION

Situational Crime Prevention

Situational Crime Prevention

Introduction

The study relates to situational crime prevention, which particularly focuses on criticisms of situational crime prevention by Keith Hayward (2007; 2012). In this view, it is important to note that a necessary condition for the development of any society is to provide security and justice. Crime affects poor people the most and this is one of the reasons why crime prevention should be part of the rule of law in every country. Crime and persecution affect the development of the country. Reduce the quality of life of its citizens and impede access to employment by discouraging investors. In addition, the lack of security funds available for social development is undermined by the resources needed to fight crime.

The role of situational crime prevention is to eliminate the problems that can lead a young person to commit a crime, such as the inadequacy of the parents, poor education or poor state of physical or mental health. The community supports teaching young people about the rule of law, strengthening relationships between local police and the community and establishing reception centers for unemployed youth treatment programs and voluntary drug addiction. Thus, besides increasing the efficiency of the criminal law, it is also important to draw attention to issues affecting crime. Examples are rehabilitation programs for former prisoners, the problem of unemployment and limited access to medical services and housing at the appropriate level.

At the local level plan should be written out in detail as possible.

Pertaining to situational crime prevention, it is important to note that the creation of the plan is the first step. It is important to note that the strategies and objectives of the action to be timely, appropriate and effective need to be constantly analyzed. Evaluation by the expert is a significant part of the procedure as the plan need constant funding (Akbas, 2009).

Increasing the Knowledge Level for the Prevention of Crime

However, programs for the prevention of crime used in developed nations might not be appropriate for other nations, especially if these countries do not have data on the level of crime. In such cases, there is a need to adapt the strategy to the requirements and circumstances of the country (Auerhahn, ...
