Slavery

The experience of the middle passage explained in both stories narrated the tortures and sufferings faced by the Negroes and slaves by the hands of Englishmen, purchasers and crew members. The slaves were put under the deck of the ship where the number of slaves always outnumbers the space. The Falconbridge document mentioned a middle passage where the slaves were 600 and the space was so small that they were put on one another.

In the Middle Passage, it is stated that the slaves were somewhere had the permission to stay on deck for the fresh air, unlike in the Falconbridge document. This made the slaves fulfill their needs where they are sitting. This caused increase in suffocation. Many of them died on board and many tried to find ways to suicide than living such a miserable life (Falconbridge, 1788).
