Introduction

A manager of an IT department at any company has greater responsibilities. Being the IT manager it is the responsibility of a manager to install or replace old mechanisms with the new projects within the company. Any new project which is to be installed has some challenges with it; these problems may have technical as well as social aspects. Every new project has the lots of expenses to get introduced. Higher time required to bring the project into practice. So many aspects of transitioning of any new IT project may contain several challenges along with it.

Organizations usually work on routine work structures, it creates problem when it comes to implement new working systems at workplace. Sometimes, it happens that people fail to get connected with the new system which results in failure of the project. In this regard it is the highly responsibility of the manager to get the people on board and get them understandable about the new implemented system. Many managers neglect and fail to realize these issues and just implement the system straightaway which could be problematic. Many organizations get failed due to the same nature of the problem.

It is more challengeable when new systems are to be implemented in the financial institutions. Financial institutions have sensitive information and need to be handled carefully that nothing can be revealed publically. Being the manager at financial institution such as bank, insurance company, Investment Company etc, it becomes more complicated to deal with social aspects of transition process of any new system. In this paper I have discussed the background and the importance of the issues related with execution of new IT system at insurance companies. This paper is about the prominent insurance company attempting to convert from a legacy paper based system to an electronic filing system.

Background

Consider an insurance company which is working on the paper documents from the years and maintaining its operations on documents which are needed to be handled with the hands and company is not using the computer software to handle the records of the company. It would be the greater challenge in order to implement the IT based system in this insurance company to maintain records. Because people working at the company are use to work in a similar way from the years but this time they would have to work on a new thing which is a computer base software that is absolutely new for them.

IT manager would have to take on board the rest of the departmental team to work on this software, without that result could be in failure. The company which I have chosen is to be introduced with new computer base electronic filing system to manage the workload.
