Human Activity System with a Significant Information Systems Component

Introduction

Human activity system usually describes humans who undertake a particular activity, such as human-machine systems, industrial activity, political systems, etc. A human activity system is described as a set of interacting subsystems or as a set of inter-acting activity. Soft Systems Methodology (SSM) is a way to deal with problem situations in which there is a high social component, political and human activity is the case of the plan (Checkland, 2000).

Discussion

Soft Systems Methodology (SSM) is a part of the concept given by Peter Checkland. It is a qualitative technique, where unstructured problems are addressed. A method is something closer to a technique, is a sequence of steps that leads to a specific outcome and the methodology is the study of method, one can say that the main difference is the flexibility, a method is rigid, and applicable to cases with specific characteristics, which represent a smaller set of which could be addressed in a methodology (Checkland and Poulter, 2006).

SSM for Shop Sales System

The Soft systems methodology is very useful in tacking the problems which arise in a Shop Sales System. Soft systems methodology is a very effective and convenient approach for the management of shop sales system. Through this system, shop stock items for sale. Each item has a specific price and there may be special offers and bargains. The details of these offers and bargains are maintained in the inventory. The customer chooses items and takes them to the till. The total to be paid is calculated; the customer pays and gets a receipt. When the stock of items is low, then more items are ordered.

Soft Systems Methodology (SSM, Soft Systems Methodology) is a use of systems thinking qualitative research techniques to solve system problems. It is mainly used to tackle the problems that contain a large number of social, political and human factors. Obviously, SSM is characterized by professional and technical means to solve all kinds of "hard" problems there is a great difference.

SSM thinking is applied to real practical activities of human society, and at the same time, it is also recognized that human social organization is a complex system. Therefore, we can say, SSM is a very effective way to explore the complexity of human society, and all kinds of messy "non-technical" problems to solve its own face.
