Analysis of Song Hotel California of 70s

The entire song is based on an individuals experiences after a visit to Hotel California, in California. The singer has expressed his feelings by playing with emotional virtues.

The first phase of the song, the narrator highlights the “dark dessert highway”, which is indicating of “his” lonliness, helplessness being haulted in from drug obsession (satanic offbeat). The next line overviews the smell of drugs “colitas” which means discussing is going on marijuana, while the “shimmering light” and “going dim” is clearly indicating the level of his toxicity after additional usage of marijuana that he cannot even see what is next near to him. The “could be heaven or could be hell” refers to high and downs that the marijuana drug is addictionally bringing.
