A visit to a museum could be a mean of joy and entertainment that is worth more than any other leisure and recreational activity. Museums play an important role in educating the community.

A number of museums are present in American. According to American association of museums, museums average approximately 865 million visits per year or 2.3 million visits per day. (Thoreau). All of these museums have some art work that inspires its visitor and give them an artistic feeling of energy, freshness and love.
As a part of my research project, I visited St. Louis Art Museum of Missouri with my friends. It is one of the principal U.S. museum, as half million people visits it each year. It is in Forest Park, Missouri. The three-storey building of the museum was constructed as a piece of Fine Arts for the 1904 World's Fair. In 2005, the radical addition was made by selecting an architect Sir David Chipper field who plan the completion of the project in a few years. A number of exhibition and installation is a part of the museum. Currents series which displays contemporary artist's as well regular exhibitions of new media arts is among the finest exhibitions. Saint Louis Art Museum comprises of more than 30,000 pieces of art work ranging from the antiques ones to the present era. The collection in the museum is a partition into 11 areas, namely, American Art, African Art, Ancient and Islamic, Asian Art, Contemporary Art, Decorative Arts and design, European Art, Modern Art, Oceanic Art, Mesoamerican and American Indian Art, Prints, Drawings and Photographs. Under the oceanic and Mesoamerican collection, the most famous are the hand woven Turkish rugs. The museum has the largest painting collection of the U.S Museums George Bingham. The art work in the museum that inspires me more was the painting with the title “Happy New Year1917, plate 17 from the portfolio "Faces" with an accession number of 282:2002. It was under the collection of Prints and Drawings. It was an artistic effect of Max Beckman. The description that is written on the guide near this art piece demonstrates that the piece is made up of the subtle points with the addition in inks. Munich, Germany is the place where this piece was manufacture. As far as its measurement was in concern, the guide shows the measurement of the plate is 9 1/4 x 11 5/8 (23.5 x 29.6 cm), and that of the sheet is 11 5/8 x 17 15/16 (29.6 x 45.5 cm). In 1919, it was published on a cream slightly textured paper. In 1999, this print was on loan to the Saint Louis Art Museum, loan number 1999.378.
