Introduction

Baptism is a concept belongs to Christian belief into water. The word "baptism" has Greek origin meaning to dip or immerse. It is admitting or accepting Church into the life after performing a ritual of dipping body into water (Jones, 1998).

It is a religious practice in which a person is immersed into "water" to make him pure and divine as a new life born. According to the Old Testament, immersing someone may refers to cleansing a person from all its sins and filth. It is a concept of burying or ending old life of sins and giving birth or start to a whole new divine life. Baptism is considered as a link with Jesus and church (gillinghamcommunitychurch.co.uk).

The concept of Baptism is around two thousand years old. The cousin of Jesus Christ, John who is now famously known as John the Baptist uses to perform this holy act as a sense of forgiveness and repentance. Jesus Christ gave a new meaning to Baptism as an end of the old life and birth into new life (McHugh, 2006). New Baptism refers to the teaching of Baptism according to New Testament. John, the Baptists immerse full body into the water to clean the eternal dirt and filth and bring out a new life. He usually did this practice near River Jordan. They considered Baptism as forgiveness of sins. This practice continued and became as part of Christian practice (Jones, 1998).

Stewards in Baptist church are considered as God's manager on earth doing good deeds and helping mankind. A Steward distributes what he can and divide his services and/or money for the benefit of mankind (Hemphill, 2006).

Discussion

Religion is a discipline of life which ensures a faith in man that there is someone who is listening to their prayers, replying those and helping them when they are in need. The relation between God and Man strengthen by faith. The more a person is faithful, more he will obey God. Religion is self satisfaction of emotions, and it is spiritual power, which enables man, to do wonders (Masih, 1991).

Human is the creation of God which is superior to all other creations. Human is interlinked with the society and surrounding. Every human has the responsibility of his own, his family, his companions and his fellows. To live in a society, it requires certain rules, regulations, obligations and moral ethics to be a good citizen. It is the religious responsibility of every Christian, to help humanity the way Jesus did. Religion plays a vital role in keeping an ethical and just society. To implement God's teachings and preaching of Holy book, it needs manpower who beyond self interest and personal favors serve the society just to please God. It is the social and religious duty of every man to get engage with the community and help others to gain spiritual satisfaction and eternal happiness (Spirkin, n.d).
