The story “The Bet” by Anton Chekhov can be related to my personal observations about life as this story explores an ethical theme about the human life's value. I had the physical deformity and because of that I was humiliated many times in my professional life. I later realized the differences in things, the losses and gains that I had in my young age. The story by Anton Chekhov with the name “The Bet” is a story that is based on banker and lawyer that both agree on a bet of $2 million, the banker had to remain concerned about the money and the lawyer had to spend fifteen years private confinement who finally gave up the bet.
