Survey Findings

Customer Questionnaire

The respondents were given a questionnaire to submit their responses on the topic based on the usage of Logistics and Procurement by the firms involved in Supply Chain activities. There were total 25 questions which were given to them. However, these questions were divided in different parts which made it more convenient for the respondents to answer them in the best possible way. A description of the responses provided by them in the questionnaires will be discussed in detail. The first part was related to the Procurement Functionalities. On a question asked to them related to the relationship between the Logistics and Procurement, they said that there is a direct relationship between the logistics and procurement. When the demand for the procurement increases, the logistics activities increases as well.

They believed that the Procurement and Logistics are one of the most important support functions of the Supply Chain Management. They were quite satisfied with the level of productivity offered by the Procurement operations of the business. They stated that the prices of products and services were very competitive. The quality for most of the products and services was also very good. The lead time for delivering the product from one place to the other was even quite satisfactory for the respondents. The reactions from the Procurement Team were also very good. The flexibility of the team and organisation in dealing with the procurement activities was also very satisfactory. There was one improvement felt by the respondents that the prices and costs of the Procurement activities should decrease to a very large extent.

The table shows that there were 67% of the respondents who had a firm belief that Procurement and Logistics is one of the most important functions of the Supply Chain activity. While the remaining 33% of the respondents had an opposing belief for this question. Figure 2: Second Part

The table shows that there were 58% of the respondents who were quite satisfied with the important functions of the Supply Chain activity. While the remaining 42% of the respondents had an opposing belief for this question. Figure 3: Part 3

The table shows that there were 75% of the respondents who stated that the flexibility of the team and organization was quite flexaible in performing Supply Chain activities. While the remaining 25% of the respondents had an opposing belief for this question. Figure 4: Part 4

The table shows that there were 83% of the respondents who stated that there is a need for an improvement of Supply Chain Functions. While the remaining 17% of the respondents had an opposing belief for this question.
