Introduction

The paper discusses the advantages and disadvantages of Supreme Court and Appeal Court the discussion will differ in the positions in relation to the doctrine of binding precedent. This doctrine of precedent is in the centre of English law system. The doctrine state the fact which is the hierarchical arrangement of the English court system, that is the decision taken by the higher court is bind on the lower court. The statement explains that when the judge tries the case he/she will analyse the situation that if was it occurred before or not. If the case has occurred before and the decision is taken by the higher court of the same court the judge is bound to take the decision on the basis of the decision taken before and law established.

Discussion

Supreme Court is the ultimate body of appealing court in the United Kingdom. It deals with the civil and criminal cases within the boundaries of England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The Supreme Court tries case of the highest public and constitutional significance that affect the whole country people.

The Appeal Court placed second in the hierarchy of senior courts of English Legal System. The court was established in 1875. This court also deals the the civil decisions and criminal cases. The Criminal Division hear appeal from the Crown Court, however, the Civil Division hear appeal from the County Court and High Court.
