Sustainability (Food Industry) or Dieting based on the Omnivore's Dilemma

Introduction

The main purpose of this paper is to make discussion on the sustainability. The paper discusses the concept of the sustainability (Food industry) or dieting on the basis of the Omnivore's Dilemma: A natural history of four Meals. Based on this book, the paper is an argument on the statement that if sustainability is not a feasible option, then dieting could be the alternate topic of choice.

Discussion

The first point for argument is that sustainability is a feasible option. The book “Omnivore's Dilemma” is based on the concept of sustainability and the food system. As per this book, sustainability is the important and feasible option for food. The book is categorised into three sections i.e. the industrial section, personal and pastoral section. By making emphasis on the concept of sustainability the book has raised the importance of the concept of sustainability. Though, my opinion is conflicting in this manner. There is a great importance of dieting in the food system. Dieting enhances the standards of food. Dieting is the way through which people balance their food system, and do not become a culprit of the eating disorder (Pollan, 2009). Dieting helps people in gaining the diet which is demanded by the human nature. This argument is proved through the discussion on the book which is “The omnivore's dilemma”. This book cannot be considered as the sermon only, rather, it is a book which is considered to ...
